The Service Learning Academy is a semester-long program that pairs teams of students from Madison Area Technical College with community non-profit organizations to volunteer two hours each week at the same organization for 10 weeks. Any student enrolled in a class at Madison Area Technical College is welcome to join the Service Learning Academy. Sign up for the Service Learning Academy for the Spring 2019 term.
This program is designed to foster meaningful and consistent connections between community partners and students over the course of an entire semester. Each team will be guided by a student leader in the program to provide support and training.
All Service Learning Academy volunteers will be required to attend an orientation with the Madison College Volunteer Center before beginning the program. This will be 90 minutes long for first time volunteers and 45 minutes for returning volunteers. During the orientation you will complete any necessary paperwork, receive your t-shirt, and learn about program structure and updates.
