Volunteer Opportunity!

The Madison College Volunteer Center offers a great opportunity for you to get involved during the Spring 2020 semester.

Service Learning Academy
The Madison College Volunteer Center invites you to participate in the Service Learning Academy (SLA). The SLA is a semester long program that pairs teams of students with community nonprofit organizations. This program fosters meaningful and consistent connections between community partners and students over the course of an entire semester. Members commit two hours of volunteer time per week for at least eight weeks out of a ten-week span. Those who complete the program are recognized at the Volunteer Recognition Banquet at the end of the semester.

For the Spring 2020 semester, we have volunteer sites in Madison, Sun Prairie, and Oregon. There are also volunteer options located at both the Truax and Goodman South campuses.

Volunteering with the SLA is a great way to do something meaningful in the community, develop leadership skills, and build your resume.

All first-time Service Learning Academy volunteers will be required to complete an orientation with the Madison College Volunteer Center before beginning the program. Students can attend a 60-minute orientation session at the Truax Campus or Goodman South Campus, or complete the orientation online.
