September 11 Day of Service & Remembrance

PTK would like to invite the Madison College community to join us for the 9.11 Day of Service & Remembrance. It is a time to reflect and honor our first responders, those who perished on September 11th and those still serving. Many of our students are studying to be first responders and we want to thank them for going into this profession.

There are a number of ways to participate:

  • Week of September 5-12, 2021: On a date, time, and location, convenient for you, participate in a 1.1 mile walk or run.  This is the approximate distance first responders ran up stairs to reach people prior to the destruction of the towers.  Post a photo of yourself with any message on WolfPack Connect or Instagram (#PTK911WalkRun) and we will send you a free t-shirt while supplies last.
  • Tuesday, September 7, 2021 3 p.m.:  Volunteer to place flags into the round circle outside of the Truax Health Building.  Each flag represents a person who perished on 9.11.01.  We also have signs that we will place in the grass along the sidewalk that have various facts about 9.11 displayed for reflection.  Following the volunteering, we will gather for pizza and beverages in the Health Building Cafeteria area.  Please meet in Student Life B1260 or outside by the circle of grass outside of the Health Building.
  • Friday, September 10, 2021:  Volunteers needed to set up, serve food, and tear down for the September 11 Day of Service & Remembrance Luncheon at the Human & Protective Services Fire Bay-Truax

Register to participate in any of these ways.
